My name is Christopher Gremillion and I am a 2015 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I transferred to UNC-CH from Craven Community College and am a first generation adult student. Though my degree is in biology, during my two years at the institution, I came to love working with students and in particular supporting them in finding pathways to being successful academically. In those two years I served as an orientation leader, a peer mentor to other transfer students, and as a volunteer with the Upward Bound program at UNC-CH. Upward bound also piqued my interest in access to higher education and so my track began to shift -significantly- from pharmacy to "higher education." I am currently looking at opportunities for graduate education; my first experience will be as a non-degree seeking graduate student at North Carolina State University with a course on College Access and Success. This summer I will be coordinating the Summer Bridge Program of UNC-CH's Upward Bound program. This will be my first experience in a professional capacity with Student Affairs.
